Proper nutrition is a fundamental basic that all living things, from plants to animals to humans, need to thrive and survive on. We may think we are meeting our needs and supporting our health, then end up wondering why we feel less than healthy.
Most of us are familiar with the statement, "You are what you eat". Think of how much more relevant to our state of health it becomes when we change it to declare, "You are what you assimilate". If your digestion is compromised in any way it is very likely that you are not receiving all the benefits of your diet, no matter how healthy it may be. |
Think of your digestive system in this way:
Imagine you and I go into the backyard and dig down to the roots of a tree, pulling the nutrients away from it. What do you think would happen to the tree? It’s guaranteed to falter in some way.
Just as its roots are the food source for the tree, your stomach and digestive tract are the roots through which your body receives its nutrition. Looking at some people, you can see that their health is faltering; their root system is not working properly and, just like the tree, they are not getting the nutrition they need to thrive.
A New Body
We have been led to believe that by eating a healthy diet full of fresh vegetables and fruits we will be supplying our bodies with all the nutrients we need. Unfortunately, our food is now grown in depleted soil, making it no longer possible to rely on our food for the mineral value that we need. Farmers have been forcing crop yields with the chemical fertilizer NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and Potassium) for over 100 years without adding back other nutrients. These are only 3 of the 80-plus essential minerals known to be necessary to the human body.
By neglecting to replenish these missing minerals for so many years, our farm and range soils have become exhausted and depleted of essential nutrients. Mineral deficiency in our foods creates mineral deficiency in our bodies.

If proteins and minerals aren't coming together properly in your gut, you are re-building your body with wood chips. In order for minerals to come together and make proper building blocks with protein (2x4's), an electrical charge must be present to connect the minerals to the proteins. The only way for a mineral to be absorbed by the body is to be attached to a protein with an electrical charge. If this is not happening in the intestinal tract, you are re-building your body with wood chips.
Lack of Energy
Low energy starts in the stomach. Did you know that you use approximately 90% of the energy received from your food just to digest it? If your digestion is impaired in any way your body may go into energy overtime, taking it away from other necessary body functions to do the job. How much energy is left to keep you running at optimum levels every day? How many people know the feeling of waking up exhausted, going through the day exhausted, and falling into bed exhausted at the end of every day? This is strong evidence that your stomach is probably not working properly.
